HIV testing standards

"Hiv testing makes us stronger, know your status"

How do HIV tests work?

" The most common HIV tests use blood to detect HIV infection. ... Some tests take a few days for results, but rapid HIV tests can give results in about 20 minutes. All positive HIV tests must be followed up by another test to confirm the positive result. Results of this confirmatory test can take a few days to a few weeks. "
http://hivtest.cdc.gov/faq.aspx#tests

Is a hiv test a confirmation of a presence or absence of a dangerous disease?

Several hiv test kit leaflets say: "The risk of an asymptomatic person with a repeatedly reactive serum developing AIDS or an AIDS-related condition is not known"
This is an absurd statement coming from an hiv-test leaflet/manual.
If one really goes to the heart of the meaning of this, it means that they don't even know if there is any risk at all.
Then they say: "However, in a prospective study, AIDS developed in 51% of homosexual men after 10 years of infection."
These words seem to mean that they are not entirely sure if this is really an HIV test or a test that proves the existence of a dangerous disease. It sounds a little like: but since we got the most positive test results (51%) among risk groups such as homosexuals, it strengthens our belief that this is a real hiv test who can detect infection by HIV -the virus that causes AIDS.
Since we got so many hits among the gay population, the risk group it assures us that positive results means hiv infection. Anyway if you get a positive result on this test and you're gay you should be considered likely doomed to death.

HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS TYPES 1 and 2 (Recombinant and Synthetic Peptides) Genetic Systems™ HIV-1/HIV-2 PLUS O EIA

The risk of an asymptomatic person with a repeatedly reactive serum developing AIDS or an AIDS-related condition is not known, as the course of HIV infection may vary among individual patients and may be altered by antiretroviral therapy. 41,42 However, in a prospective study, AIDS developed in 51% of homosexual men after 10 years of infection.

Short: We don't know how likely you are to get sick if you test positive on this test. But if you are gay, we suggest you might get really sick. This test.. it's just a thing, and if you're gay then hiv/aids is your thing.

This test is not intended to be used as a screening test for HIV or as a diagnostic test to confirm the presence of HIV infection.
There are six diagnostic methods currently in use to detect HIV infection: EIA for antibody detection, Western Blot for the detection of antibody directed against specific viral components, viral culture, EIA for HIV-1 antigen detection, indirect immunofluorescence assay, and radio immunoprecipitaion assay.

Most of these methods, however, do not provide a sensitive and specific method for the direct measurement of HIV-1 viral activity.

ABBOT HIV test HIVAB HIV-1/HIV-2 (rDNA) EIA

HIVAB HIV-1/HIV-2 (rDNA) EIA is an in vitro enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to human immunodeficiency viruses type 1 and/or type 2 (HIV-1/HIV-2) in human serum, plasma, or cadaveric serum.
Sensitivity and Specificity

At present, there is no recognized standard for establishing the presence or absence of antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human blood.

Sensitivity for HIV-1 antibodies was computed based on the clinical diagnosis of AIDS. For HIV-2, sensitivity was expressed in terms of detection rate using investigational confirmation assay results as a basis for comparison. Specificity is based on assay of blood donations from random donors. Sensitivity for HIV-1 antibody was shown to be equivalent to a previously licensed test based on comparative studies in various clinical groups including AIDS, ARC, and High Risk.
WARNING: FDA has licensed this test kit for use with human serum, plasma, or cadaveric serum specimens only. Use of this licensed test kit with specimens other than those specifically approved for use with this test kit may result in inaccurate test results.

BioLytical Laboratories the INSTI Kit, INSTI HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Antibody Test

"The risk of an asymptomatic person with repeated reactive serum developing aids is not known" "The presence of antibodies to HIV indicates previous exposure to the virus, but does not necessarily constitute a diagnosis of AIDS. The prevalence of antibodies to HIV in people not known to be at risk of acquiring HIV infection is unknown, but significantly less. 5 Absence of antibodies to HIV does not indicate that an individua l is absolutely free of HIV-1 or HIV-2; HIV has been isolated from seronegative individuals prior to seroconversion."

BioLytical Laboratories Insti HIV-1/HIV-2 antibody test

The INSTI HIV-1/HIV-2 assay has not been validated for detection of antibodies to HIV-1 Group O or N subtypes. (According to the AIDS/HIV industry HIV viruses are now divided into different subtypes. By stating that the INSTI test has not been validated for detection of antibodies to HIV-1 Group O or N subtypes, they also tell you that their test is not a way to make sure if you are "HIV positive" or not!)
There is no single standard for detecting the sensitivity or specificity of an antibody test for HIV in human sera, plasma or whole blood. However, the generally accepted method to express the sensitivity and specificity of a given test in terms of the detection rate is to compare results to approved supplemental assay results, such as ELISA and Western Blot.

Bio rad HIV test insert note -the antibody sandwich technique

Human immunodeficiency virus types 1 and 2 recombinant and synthetic peptides GS HIV-1/HIV-2 PLUS O EIA Biological Principles of the Procedure
The Genetic Systems HIV-1/HIV-2 plus O EIA is an immunoassay based on the principle of direct the antibody sandwich technique. Microwell strip plates (the solid phase) are

coated with purified antigens:

gp160 and p24 recombinant proteins derived from HIV-1;..
(So the surface is coated with antigens and proteins derived from HIV-1. They have covered the surface with HIV virus components and if your blood has anti-bodies to this components then you have HIV in your blood. Hm..I wonder how they manage to harvest all these HIV components. And how do they make it stay on the microwell strip plate? Is it small HIV viruses laying on these strip plates waiting and doing just fine without any blood or T-Cells? Is a microwell strip plate really a good environment for a HIV virus to live in? I thought the HIV virus needed a host cell. How do they purify them, the "antigens"? And how do they harvest them so they can put it on the microwell strip plate? Is it dead?)
How do they know that it is only HIV particles that sticks to the microwell strip plate surface and not some other stuff? I mean measuring HIV seems to be so hard anyway. These HIV-test clearly shows that finding HIV-viruses in blood is not easy. They need to re-test with other standards to make sure that it really IS HIV or not.
So how do they collect all the "purified antigens gp160 and p24 recombinant proteins derived from HIV-1"?
Are they using HIV-test in their cultivating tank to make sure it really is HIV before they put it on the microwell strip plates?
http://www.labs-inc.org/files/labs//pdfs/test_catalog/HIV-1%20HIV-2%20EIA_Bio-Rad.pdf
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/542707/Package-Insert--GS-HIV-1-HIV-2-Plus-O-EIA
Therefore, the GS HIV-1/HIV-2 Plus O EIA had an estimated specificity in this study of 99,92% (24,228/24,247; 95% confidence interval: 99,88-99,96)
Lots of references to tests with Western Blot. But Western Blot can give indeterminate results. Hm..(..?)

Do the industry want transparency about hiv/aids? Do they want you to read package inserts and leaflets to hiv test kits? No.

Here is a list of removed hiv tests and changed URL's after I have linked to them. Reading package inserts to hiv tests increases understanding of what hiv/aids really is. It's a fraud. a lie and a crime. It's all based on our good trust and cooperation. Don't buy hiv/aids, don't sell it.
