Learning about the body's ph value is important to maintain good health. Most people are often to acidic and we need to be more alkaline. One major factor that impacts our ph level is what we eat. In general we eat to much much food that damages the ph value in the body and we become too acidic. An acidic environment increases the risk of candida infections and cancer. Examples of acidic foods, or more properly acidifying foods are: sugar, wheat flour, white bread, yeast, corn flour, pasta, sweets, candy, fastfood - junkfood (pizza, hamburgers, french fries, potatoe chips etc), sodas, alkohol, beer, wine, licker, coffy etc. All this food stresses the body and you get acidic and this is dangerous in the long run. You can get candida infection -yeast infection, heart problems obesity etc. To recover from this you can eat alkalizing foods, herbs, minerals, probiotics -healthy bacteria that are present in vegetables, fermented-foods, youghurt etc. The key factor for good health is to eat alkalizing foods that restores your ph value.

Acidic foods VS acidifying foods

There is a difference between acidic foods and acidifying foods. A food which is acidic may actually cause a basic reaction in the body. One example of such foods is lemon. Lemons are acidic, but when you eat them, they cause an alkaline reaction in the body. Therefore, it is good to eat lemons and drinking lemon water if one has a low pH value, if one is acidic, if you have candida infection.
